Pan Shiyi is a maverick and vanguard of China’s property development. Born in Gansu, China in 1963, Pan went to college at the Beijing Petroleum Institute in 1982 and worked in the Ministry of Petroleum after graduation. From 1987 he began working in the property development realm in Shenzhen and Hainan. In 1992, Mr. Pan co-established Beijing Vantone Co., Ltd. Pan co-founded SOHO China with his wife, Zhang Xin, in 1995. So far, it has developed and is developing several large-scale, avant-garde projects in the CBD of Beijing, and its total development in the CBD is 20% of the whole development in the CBD. Pan's success owes to his inexhaustible creativity and originality. All his projects have become remarkable urban landmarks and led the trends of architecture in China. At the same time, Pan has proven himself a gifted entrepreneur with the great success of all his real estate developments. SOHO China has continuously been one of the top 3 tax payers in China's real estate industry. Since 1999, SOHO China’s projects have repeatedly topped No.1 sales in Beijing and even across China.

潘石屹，1963年11月14日出生在甘肅天水，在“黃土高坡”農(nóng)村度過了小學(xué)、中學(xué)。大學(xué)畢業(yè)后分到國家石油部工作，一九八七年辭職下海到深圳、海南，后到北京，專業(yè)從事房地產(chǎn)開發(fā)。潘石屹以其獨特的商業(yè)哲學(xué)和經(jīng)營理念在項目開發(fā)和創(chuàng)新建筑領(lǐng)域?qū)覄?chuàng)奇跡，他開發(fā)建設(shè)的SOHO現(xiàn)代城、建外SOHO、長城腳下的公社、博鰲凱賓斯基飯店等項目都成為中國當(dāng)代建筑的里程碑并取得了巨大的商業(yè)成功。潘石屹目前在北京正在開發(fā)的項目有朝外SOHO、SOHO尚都、光華路SOHO和三里屯SOHO等。SOHO中國是北京最大的開發(fā)商之一。SOHO中國在北京CBD的項目開發(fā)量占CBD總開發(fā)量的五分之一；銷售額占北京CBD的39％；自1999年以來，連續(xù)多年蟬聯(lián)北京銷售冠軍，并連續(xù)三年成為中國房地產(chǎn)企業(yè)納稅前3名。潘石屹不僅在項目開發(fā)上為城市留下了建筑，還給社會留下很多獨到的觀念和主張，潘石屹堅持行業(yè)和國家的進(jìn)步只能市場化；主張尊重自然的發(fā)展觀；強調(diào)小就是美好；喜歡娛樂化生存等等。是當(dāng)今最活躍最吸引眼球的商界人士。
